Barry & District News - “Mais Nails in Barry named best in Wales at awards ceremony”

A nail salon has been named the best in Wales at an awards ceremony.

Mais Nails in Barry took home the Nail Salon of the Year title at the 11th Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards 2025, held on Sunday, November 23.

The awards, organised by the Oceanic Awards, celebrate outstanding professionals, businesses, and services across the hair and beauty industry in Wales.

A spokesman for the Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards said: "We have spent the last decade celebrating the finest professionals and businesses, recognising the creativity, innovation, and exceptional service that have become synonymous with this beloved industry.

"The awards remark the strength, skill and innovation of those who have shown excellent commitment to customer satisfaction and have changed the industry’s landscape by introducing innovative treatments and services, building extremely close and trusted relationships with their clients."

Sunkiss in Barry was also recognised for excellence in the Tanning Salon of the Year category.

The black-tie ceremony took place at The Coldra Court Hotel in Newport and honoured both rising and established talent in the industry.

Other winners included La Beaute Boutique in Cardiff, which took home Beauty Salon of the Year, and Dean Morgan Salon in Bridgend, named Best of South Wales.

The awards also highlighted individual professionals and specialist services, with categories covering everything from aesthetics and skin clinics to lash and brow experts.

Organisers said: "We would like to congratulate all of our winners on their incredible accomplishments."
