A thriving nail business owned by a Barry teenager is moving into bigger premises.

19-year-old Maisie Brown is moving her salon, Mais Nails, from the Goodsheds to newly renovated premises at York Place.

The newly remodelled premises have been finished to a high standard.

And they boast a gold and neutral colour tone scheme.

The main salon is also four times the size of her salon at the Goodsheds and has its own pedicure area.

The expansion means Miss Brown will be able to offer luxury pedicures for the first time, and there is a separate small room she plans to rent out to a therapist to offer other beauty and aesthetic treatments.

Miss Brown established the business 15 months ago, ploughing all her savings into opening her own nail studio in the Goodsheds.

She said the new salon allows for a better experience for her clients.

The expansion comes after a busy year for the young entrepreneur, who has worked hard and innovatively to build her business.

She reached out to Welsh influencer Charly-Anne, offering to do her nails in exchange for promotion to social media followers.

The collaboration has reportedly been a great success, with Charly-Anne now being one of her regular clients and has resulted in Miss Brown gaining some 180 regular clients in total.

This means the business is often fully booked three to four weeks in advance.

Her business growth has also meant she has recruited three 'brand ambassadors' who receive a discounted set of nails and are then tasked with distributing price lists and business cards before their next appointment.

The brand ambassadors also post content on their socials and have dedicated discount codes to share for new clients to use at Mais Nails.

She is a finalist in three categories in Britain's industry awards, The Hair and Beauty Awards UK.

Ms Brown is also a finalist at the Vale Business Awards in the category of 'Young Business Person of the Year'.

Mais Nails' new salon in 17 York Place will open on Wednesday, August 27.
